What you need to know before traveling to Hawke's Bay

Hawke’s Bay is a region on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island. It is on a semi-circular bay that extends 100 kilometers from Cape Kidnappers to Mahia Peninsula. This is a world famous wine producing region. The main community in Hawke’s Bay is Napier, which proudly boasts of being the prettiest little city in New Zealand. It has an unbeatable combination of near-perfect climate, gorgeous scenery, and a backdrop of lovely vineyards. There are three excellent marine attractions here. At the National Aquarium of New Zealand there is a huge ocean tank with an acrylic tunnel that allows you to get as close to sea life as you possibly can without getting wet, or eaten. At the Marineland of New Zealand the star performers are dolphins. You will also love the Penguin Recovery Workshop here. The Seahorse Farm has tours that allow you to see 75,000 of the odd little creatures. The Hawke’s Bay Museum is famous for its exhibit of the art of the local Ngati Kahungunu people. It also has a dinosaur exhibit. For something different, check out the Juke Box Museum, the British Car Museum and Trainworld.
