Bergen is a beautiful seafront city in Norway and offers a great view of the surrounding ocean, as well as some of the islands offshore. However, one of the most interesting things about Bergen is the Seven Mountains – the set of mountains that surround this city. Ranging from 284 meters (931 feet) to a more significant 631 meters (2070 feet) above sea level, most of these mountains draw a great deal of interest from tourists staying at hotels in Bergen. You can take a tram up to the top of Mount Floyen and eat at the nearby fish market when you are done.
Some of the Seven Mountains make a great source for climbing. The tallest are Mount Ulriken (631 meters) and Rundermanen Mountain (560 meters). Mount Floyen, also referred to as Floyfjellet, is 399 meters high and has a tourist destination at the top, accessible via a train that leaves every half hour, and offers the best view of Bergen and the surrounding islands. The other four mountains are Sandviksfjellet (392 meters), Lovstakken (477 meters), Lyderhorn Mountain (396 meters), and Damsgaardsfjllet, the smallest at 284 meters.
