The Vikings explored and conquered lands over a millennium ago, and the Vikingskiphuset, or Viking Ship Museum, remembers these deeds with several intriguing displays related to the Vikings. This includes the three Viking burial vessels, the Gokstad, tune,a nd Oseberg, the last of which is 20 meters long with a dragon-shaped keel. This particular vessel was found containing royal remains.
Other displays at the Viking Ship Museum include tools and household utensils used by these destroyers from Oslo, Norway. The museum also houses a collection of fine ceremonial sleighs that date back from the same era. The entire museum is full of items that are from 800-900 AD. It’s incredible to see the history of some of the most famous conquerors of all time, but best of all, it’s intriguing to take note that so many of these antique items are still in such great shape.
