The Kon-Tiki Museum commemorates the voyages and adventures of Thor Heyerdahl, one of the world’s most famous scientists and explorers. Visitors to Norway staying in hotels in Oslo can visit the museum and view exhibits related to the Tigris, Kon-Tiki, Ra, Fatu-Hiva, and Easter Island expeditions. Original boats, including the balsa-log raft from the 1947 expedition from Peru to Polynesia across the Pacific.

A separate area of the Kon-Tiki Museum houses short-term exhibits and a 30-meter cave tour, as well as an underwater display of a 10-meter life-size whale shark. Use the interactive resources and cinema to learn more about the late explorer from Norway, and get gifts and items from the souvenir shop to commemorate your visit to Oslo and the museum.
