Often abbreviated Oslo S, the Oslo Sentralstasjon is the most used railway station in the city and the largest in the entire Norwegian system. You will probably find that, if your destination is one of the many hotels in Oslo, you arrive here from the airport or use the station at some point or other. It was opened in 1980 and serves four companies, including local, regional, and express services.
The Oslo Sentralstasjon (Central Station) has 19 tracks and 2 buildings and is located in Jernbanetorget Square. From the station, you can find your way to Slottsparken or Resistance Museum nearby or take a train to Stavanger or Kristiansand for more sights. Since this is Norway's largest transport hub, there are buses, trams, and subways to hundreds of locations throughout the country. Take note that what was once Oslo V, a station associated with the location, closed in 1987 and is now the home of the Norwegian Nobel Institute.
