Cayo Crawl, sometimes called Cayo Coral or Coral Cay, is a shallow channel found between Isla Bastimentos and Isla Popa. About a half hour from Bocas Town (by boat), the trip here will let you see a bunch of picturesque islands and rocks. An ideal snorkeling spot, the waters are warm, clear and shallow. Perhaps one of the real draws of the place, though, would be the three restaurants you’ll find here supported by stilts and standing right above the water. As you would expect, these restaurants specialize in seafood. The lobster is seasonal, ranging from $15 to $20, but you can get fried fish for about six bucks, as well as octopus and shrimp cooked in coconut milk. A couple of these restaurants even have private tables on their own, tiny little islands. One of them even has cabanas, allowing for visitors who so choose to spend the night.

The fish you’ll find by the restaurants are spoiled rotten by customers feeding them breadcrumbs all day, to the point that one of the restaurants even boasted of having a tame barracuda.
