Having been to paris before, i knew i wanted to stay in the montmartre district, despite it being known as the 'sex district'. it has a great selection of bars and restaurants and the sacre coeur! the staff were friendly, room & bathroom small & basic but cleaned daily. shower, whilst small provided plenty of hot water. we asked for a room overlooking the sacre couer and were not disappointed! six floors up and an uninterrupted view, tiny balcony but able to stand and enjoy the view - magnificent!! the view makes the stay in this hotel worthwhile.p.s. there is a lift but only big enough for two people, but glad of it all the same!
I don't want to sound picky as i knew what to expect when booking this hotel from previous reviews i.e. the hotel bedrooms need updating, however they were clean and adequate for a two night stay. situated on a busy road there is a lot of traffic noise and no air con, so in the summer i imagine it would be uncomfortable at nights. we slept with the windows open and used ear plugs to help combat the noise. breakfast e6 pp basic but fresh. be warned paris is seriously expensive due to the poor exchange £ - e, but again we knew what to expect. overall, would i stay here again? yes, i just loved the view!

As it was our honeymoon, we were given a room on the 5th floor. the view of the sacre coeur from our window was out of this world. we lay in bed with the curtains open and admired it lit up at night.

Knowing i would not be staying in my room much for this brief visit, the most important aspects for me were: cleanliness, comfortable bed and a bathroom ensuite. the bed was indeed comfortable, the room was very clean and it had a bathroom.
The bathroom was very narrow, i could barely stand in front of the sink it was so close to the opposite wall. but it was clean and usable. so no big deal, it met my purposes.

Good location and value for money. rather noisy as my bed backed onto the lift.
The receptionist could have been better trained, and a pity that we could not get an english channel to watch the wimbledon final!!!

We had room no:42- what an awesome view of le sacre coeur! it made up for the very small room with basic facilities. beds were comfortable and we had all we needed - a tea tray would have been good...street was a little noisey but then again i don't think anywhere in paris really sleeps! great location w.r.t shops, gare du nord and buses. enjoyed our first time in paris.
Room carpets were in need of a good clean. the safe in the room was only available for an extra charge. would not opt for the breakfast, 1 street away there is an amazing patisserie where you can get a similar breakfast for 4euros.

A great location at the foot of the sacre coeur, although the surrounding areas - pigalle and barbes-rochechouart - may not be to all tastes. a short walk from the gare du nord, and a few metres from the nearest metro stop (anvers).
The walls are paper-thin. you will hear your neighbours' conversations, ablutions etc. be aware: if you cannot live without the tv, you will have to pay extra.

The front staff was extremely helpful and nice when we checked in. we had one less person staying with us and because of that, he said he could change our room to a 3 person room, and it was awesome. we were on the top floor on the front corner, with a wrap around balcony and amazing views of the street and skyline. the breakfast was great i thought, the day before we tried one of the cafe's and it was so expensive, so the breakfast they brought was very welcome and tasty. also, the hotel is steps away from the metro which makes it very convenient to get around paris.
The elevator was tiny. there was only room for two of us in there with our one suitcase and backpack. in the room, they had a third bed squeezed into the bedroom so the door wouldnt shut, but it wasn't a big deal. the biggest issue was that the room with the shower in it had no door! there were three girls in that room who all had to shower, so we had to be careful about where our eyes went, especially since there was no shower.
