Hôtel des Artistes Paris

The location is great, being near metro station, moulin rouge, and mac donalds at walking distance. the surroundings could be a little "too" much for some people, as it is the case of my cousin who stayed there with me, who is also very traditional. for me, on the other hand, it was part of the experience: there are sex shops, bars with working girls, sort of like the "rosa" zone in amsterdam. so what, i had fun observing. nobody bothered us; we even stayed as late as 2:00 am for dinner once at the restaurant right on the corner across the hotel, and did not have any problems. the service is very, very basic. rooms have the absolutely necessary to get a night of rest, no luxury, but who wants to stay in the hotel. they cleaned everyday, but did not change towels; i can't include this part in the negatives becaue it does not bother me, i don't change my towels at home everyday either. all in all, you get basic service, with good, interesting location for a good price hard to find in paris.
