Close to many places of interest, eiffel tower, etc.
Room smelled like cigarettes, the neon sign was at my window buzzing and turning on and off every second, all night long, no chance of sleep. nestled between sex shops and prostitutes. wouldn't recommend it.

Not really relevant. my requirement was for budget price accommodation in a convenient location and the hotel met this need well
Lift was out of order. not a major problem however.

Location and price: it's only a short walk from nord. but looking at a few hotel windows locally i noticed smarter places for the same price or cheaper.
It was a shocking mess, filthy and badly maintained. a front window is broken and roughly repaired with tape. reception was a joke. the advertised wi-fi didn't work and nobody had a clue how to get it going; they did not even know access-codes and passwords. the room was not clean but at least the linen was. the hallways and lobby had not been cleaned in weeks and there was noisy building work going on until well into the evening. breakfast involved sitting amid the mess while an employee went to the boulangerie to buy you a single croissant; coffee was in a jug warmed up in the microwave. you get what you pay for, i guess.

Good location near to the mass public transportation.
No elevator services. it's very tough for living on the high floor.

The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is obviously past its prime and requires some renovation. however, relative to other prices being quoted for paris hotels it was relatively cheap, so you get what you pay for.

Yes , the lift was not working and my family was put on the sixt floor, the internet was not working and the hotel seemed to be short staffed

Although the lift was broken the hotel staff helped me carry my luggage up the 6 flights of stairs to my room.
however what was represented on easytobooks website about the hotel, for e.g. breakfast included, direct line phone, lift (although apparently broken recently), was not correct. part of the reason for choosing the hotel was there was a direct phone in the room. there was a phone but you cannot make calls from it, even with a calling card. so unable to phone relatives etc.
