I had previously asked if there was any possibility of being upgraded as it was a special occassion(our first wedding anniversary). when we got there we were given the key to a room and told us breakfast was included so we thought maybe this was what they were doing to make the stay more special. we left our bags and went out for the day. on returning, we were told they had made a mistake with the room and that they had moved all of our things. also, there was no breakfast included. they also then put us in a room next to some very loud children who screamed until midnight. it left a sour taste as whilst the 2nd room was very nice (though small) it felt like we had been 'downgraded' rather than 'upgraded'. we expressed our feelings and the receptionist said she would speak to her manager in the morning but she never spoke to us about it again.
