There was a stain on the mattress, and the hotel staff had turned it upside down to hide it. i then had the worst night's sleep ever until i surmised that the mattress had to be upside down--that it wasn't double-sided but hard one side, soft the other, and the wrong side was up. sure enough, i turned it over--at 2am--and had a decent night's sleep.

The location of the hotel was excellent. we only got one taxi our entire stay. while it was a nice walk to see all the sights it was a great way to see the city. the hotel was beautifully decorated. rooms very clean. our room was on the first floor and facing a main street but the noise of the street was well blocked out. the reception staff was very helpful and spoke excellent english.
The room was a bit small, we only stayed for two nigths so it was fine for that lenght of time.

Room decor and furniture very nice and the location is quite central for a lot of tourist sites
Room quite small, no tea or coffee making facilities and lift will only squeeze a max of 3 people in.

Unfortunately we were in a smoking room that smelled very bad. the staff tried to help, but it doesn't.

Very attractive hotel, in a lovely part of paris, easy to get to everywhere in the city.
Breakfast was a ridiculous price - 18 euros per person. all one wanted as a tourist was a coffee and croissant - 4 euros around the corner.

Very friendly, informative staff.
The lift was not working when we checked-out, and had to carry 30kg bags down 6 flights of stairs.
