The Aeroport Paris – Orly is located 14 kilometres from the south of Paris. It is situated partially in Orly and in Villeneuve-le-Roi. As a major player in the tourism of Paris, the airport brings in and out people from cities in Europe, Africa, Middlle East, North America and the Caribbean.
Before the Charles de Gaulle International Airport was constructed, the Orly Airport was the main airport of the capital city of France. Now, it is the second busiest French airport in terms of the boardings of passengers. With two terminals on the west and the south, the Orly Airport covers more than 15.3 square kilometres of land area. This makes it straddle two departments in France as well as seven communes. The terminals of the airport are linked to the city of Paris by freeways as well as Orly buses, Air France buses and the Orlyval automatic metro service, which conveniently connects passengers to the Antony RER station in Paris. The convenience and accessibility of the airport is a major factor that cements its role in the strong tourism of Paris.
