The Jorge Chavez International Airport is one of Peru's major airports that serve both international and domestic flights. It is located in the downtown capital city of Lima in the district of Callao. Every year millions of passengers and thousands of flights come in and out of this airport. It is now operated by Lima Airport Partners. The airport is named after a famous Peruvian pilot, Jorge Chavez and it was built in 1961.
The newly renovated Jorge Chavez International Airport was an addition to promote Lima tourism. It has a commercial center in its premises that has different kinds of retail stores. There is also a new world class hotel that opened right across with complete amenities. The airport also has a tourist information stand that gives free materials like brochures on Lima attractions and even for the whole of Peru. It has garnered an award as the best airport in South America.
