One of the things to do in Lima is to visit the Parque de las Leyendas or the Lima zoo. While animals that are seen in most zoos such as lions and tigers can be found, most of the zoo animals are of native Peruvian species. The zoo is divided into three main regions: coastal, the Andes Mountain region, and the Selva jungle or the Peruvian rainforests. One can surely see a variety of tropical birds, monkeys, Llamas, condors, and alpacas upon visiting.
Visiting the Parque de las Leyendas is really one of the fun activities in Lima. The entrance fee for children is free during the summer and these kids will delight not only in the animals but also in the mechanical toys that are sold. It only takes about an hour to walk through the whole zoo and there is also a restaurant that serves snacks and lunches for the kids and the whole family.
