Visiting the Iglesia de San Agustin church is one of the things to do in Lima, Peru. Although the magnificent tower and stone-carved façade that it once had no longer exists because of the damages it incurred during the Civil War and several earthquakes, it is still a pleasure to see the Church’s Spanish baroque front that was built in the 17th century. One can still appreciate the elements of the church that are saved like the lateral walls, the main courtyard, and its beautiful arches. Aside from this, the choir stalls and several paintings are also preserved.
The Iglesia de San Agustin is surely one of the Lima attractions as the church attracts people who appreciate the marvelous stucco ceiling, decorative tiles in every wall, and the excellent woodwork of the ante sacristry. Apart from that, people also look forward to seeing the famous wooden rendition of “Death” by Baltazar Gavilian
