A visit to Lima would not be complete without going to the Jiron de la Union, a very important part of Lima tourism. It is a pedestrian street lined up with different shops selling modern things. Restaurants, from fast foods to western cuisine can also be found left and right. Some of the stores found in the street include jewelry shops, bookstores and a shopping gallery. There are even movie theaters found in this street.
The street is similar to the Fifth Avenue Street in New York, the only difference is that the Jiron de la Union is not fit for cars and buses. One of the activities in Lima is to visit this very popular street. Not only can visitors enjoy the shops and restaurants, they can also enjoy some of the historic sites found along the street. Some of these sites include the Iglesia de La Merced, the Aliaga House, and the Josefina Ramos de Cox Archeological Museum.
