It is without a doubt that Universidad del Pacifico (UP) or the University of the Pacific is one of the Lima attractions. The private university established in 1962 by a group of entrepreneurs supported by Jesuits priests has now become a well known university specializing in areas of economics and business administration. Because of this, UP has been ranked as the most prestigious educational institution in the fields it specializes, not only in Peru but in other universities in Latin America. 1600 students are currently pursuing undergraduate studies in UP, with over 500 students taking up graduate studies.
