Sometimes, staying in a foreign country, even to enjoy a beautiful and relaxing vacation, can begin to wear on the senses, and you feel the need for a touch of home. When staying in hotels in Manila, the Philippines, you may get such a feeling. If so, you can make a trip to the American-style Enchanted Kingdom amusement park, just south of the city proper. With rides, shows, gardens, characters (led by the Wizard), and building facades that resemble American brownstones, this is very Disney-style entertainment.

Thrills at the Enchanted Kingdom also have names that are inspirational, much like American themeparks. The Manila versions have names like Log Jam, Air Pterodactyl, Dodgem, Flying Fiesa, Whel of Fate, and Rialto. If you start from Makati City, you may be able to catch the point-to-point shuttle bus that feeds straight to the attraction and back. Look for fireworks on weekends and daily dance and talent shows. There is a little something for everyone to love at this treasure in the Philippines.
