The 15th century Piast Castle is an interesting sight in the town, as is the 19th century town hall and the Caro Villa. History was made in this city in 1939 when Nazi soldiers attacked a radio station which led to blame being placed on the Poles and sparking the German invasion of Poland. One of the characteristic features of the Gliwice skyline is the 110 metre high radio mast, though to be the world’s tallest radio mast.
