The city of Świnoujście is situated on the islands of Uznam and Wolin in the West Pomerania, district of Poland. The two islands are divided by the Swina, a channel of water stretching inland from the Baltic and up towards the town of Szczecin. Świnoujście is one is one of the most popular holiday resorts in Poland and a many tourists go there on “health” as there are many spas in the area. The spa resort is situated by the seaside. It stands just outside of the town separated by a forest and the spa park. If you’re planning to visit the spa it does have 1,400 beds but you can always reserve accommodation at one of the great discount hotels in Świnoujście town proper.
In addition to health tourism, the city also has some beautiful beaches making it a popular seaside resort too. Świnoujście suffered extensive war damage but the historic esplanade has been beautifully restored and there are many shops, cafes and bars for your enjoyment. Świnoujście also has two famous lighthouses built in the latter part of the 18th century, one of which is the tallest brick built lighthouse in the world standing at 65 meters tall.
