A trip to Amadora will be most enjoyable, whether for business or pleasure. The Grande Lisboa region is home to a city called Amadora. Amadora is actually situated in the northwest part of the general metropolitan area of Lisbon, and is known to be what is called a satellite city of Lisbon. It may be a small city, but it is well populated. Amadora was once a part of another municipality, which was called Oeiras. In 1979, Amadora was incorporated. Amadora is the home of an annual International Comics Festival, and people attend from all around the world. The city has 12 recreational and leisure parks, each one with a different theme, and with sections for golfing, tennis, soccer, artificial ski runs, an artificial beach, an exotic garden, kid's recreation, and more.
