Maritime Museum Lisbon

The entire west wing of Jeronimos Monastery is where the exhibits for the Maritime Museum is located. The many exhibits include model ships, a royal cabin from the 19th century that was taken from the yacht of Queen Amelia, and ceremonial barges from the 18th century. You will also find a terrestrial globe made in 1645, Japanese armor from the 15th century, and the seaplane that first crossed the south Atlantic Ocean in 1922. These and many other interesting articles can be seen at the Maritime Museum. One way to make sure you have plenty of time to study the exhibits is to book your room early at one of the cheap hotels in Lisbon near the Maritime Museum. You may well be within walking distance of the museum, which means you can visit without worrying about transportation.
