The hotels near Santa Apolónia railway station in Lisbon place you close to the oldest of all of the city’s train stations. The station was opened on 1 May 1865, and it sits perched nicely on the banks of the River Tagus in the centre of the historical Alfama district. The station is important as it is the international hub of Lisbon, linking the city to Paris, Madrid and a high speed service to Alfa Pendular.
