Hotels near Belém Cultural Center in Lisbon - Best deals & budget rates!

Situated next to the Jeronimos Monastery, the Belem Cultural Center is known for its strikingly modern architecture. Known as the CCB by local citizens, the Belem Cultural Center was built in four years, and was first used for the country’s Presidency of the European Union gathering in 1992. Once this event was over, the Belem Cultural Center was and continues to be used for all sorts of cultural and art events, international exhibitions, congresses, and the largest auditorium in the city.

The Belem Cultural Center was at one time the location of Lisbon’s Design Museum. At present, the space that was taken up by this museum is in use by the Berardo Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. After you have checked out the entire museum offerings, you can head on over to the terrace café on the main floor to get some refreshments. Enjoy the river view from the garden, and do not miss the Discoveries Monument on the riverbank. There are exhibitions here, and the views from the top of the monument are stunning.
