The Cais do Sodré railway station in central Lisbon serves the westbound rail routes towards the famous Royal getaway of the Cascais coastal resort. The Cais do Sodré railway station also shares the same name with the Lisbon Metro station, which is directly adjacent to it. Travelers can easily reach the subway’s Green Line route from here, as well as the nearby ferry station. Passengers can take a ferry to Cacilhas, Seixal and Montijo from Cais do Sodré.
The Cais do Sodré railway station was built in a very attractive and distinctive style by Pedro Botelho and Nuno Teotónio Pereira. Adorning the walls of the station, passers-by can admire the abstract works by artist António Dacosta. Many people actually visit the station without needing to take a train, but to admire the architecture and the artwork murals.
