A graceful aqueduct, the Aqueduto da Amoreira still supplies water to the town, built between 1498 and 1622 on the foundations of a Roman one. This luxurious boutique hotel in Elvas was one of the first Pousada hotels in Portugal. It was established in 1942 and has been going strong ever since.
