Church of Our Lady before Týn

Started in 1365, Our Lady of Týn features marvelous, multiple, spiky steeples. They sit atop matched twin Baroque towers. The interior displays Gothic sculpture as well as a pewter font (1414) and a 15th century pulpit. The altar is an immense Rococo creation. The north portal displays a 14th century tympaneum of the Crucifixion probably from the workshop of Petr Parler. It is a copy. The original is at the Lapidarium. Astronomers make a pilgrimage her to see the red marble tomb. This is the last resting place of Tycho Brahe, the astronomer and consultant to Rudolph II.
