Hlavni Nadrazi (Main Train Station) of Prague

Hlavni Nadrazi is the grander and more popular station of Prague's two train stations. Nevertheless, it is still the rougher one as well but Czech citizens don't seem to mind. This train station was built in 1909 and was once a beautiful four-story Art Nouveau structure. It was also one of the city's most adored architectural designs before it was connected to a darkly modern dispatch hall. From the train platform, travelers walk down a flight of stairs and through a tunnel before they get to the ground-level main hall. This hall contains ticket windows and a very helpful Information Service office. There you can get city maps and any necessary information that you may want. Once you leave the modern terminal hall, it is only a 5-minute walk to the left that will put you at the top of Wenceslas Square. It is also only 15 minutes by foot to the Old Town Square. Just catch Metro line C and then connect to the station easily through the other two subway lines. Metro trains depart from the lower level and tickets are available from the newsstand near the metro entrance. Be careful of the taxi drivers who line up outside the station.
