Description
Hotel Giglio dell'Opera is a Superior 3 stars hotel, situated in the historical centre of Rome, such as Roman Forum, Colosseum, Basilic of Santa Maria Maggiore, and the commercial center of Rome, such as Via Nazionale, Via del Corso. Also, the hotel is located at a few meters from the Opera House.
The hotel is well connected by underground and main bus lines are situated at 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is also walking distance from the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain (around 10-15 minutes walking).
All rooms have a private bathroom with bathtub or shower. The rooms are well decorated with all major comforts: minibar, Satellite TV, Telephone with Direct line, hairdryer, Air-conditioning, Internet Modem connection and Pay-Tv.

Because of the excellent position, all main sights are just a short distance away and easy to reach on foot: Piazza di Spagna, the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, Santa Maria Maggiore and the Roman Forum, just to name a few. Furthemore, the hotel lies close to the major public transportation services and to the underground line.

By flight:
From Fiumicino airport take the express train leaving every 30 minutes for the Termini railway station. Then follow the above-said directions.
From Ciampino airport take the Cotral bus to Anagnina underground line A station. Take the underground and get off at Termini. Then follow the above-said directions.
By car: Exit the Grande Raccordo Anulare beltway, reachable by all highways, on via Tiburtina and follow the indications to Roma centro. Then follow the directions for the Stazione Termini. When you are in proximity of the railway station, follow the indications to via Marsala, where ample car parking facilities are available at a fee.
By train: From the Termini railway station you can easily reach the hotel on foot in a few minutes. Exit the station on the side of via Giolitti, cross the street and take via Gioberti. Follow the directions for Santa Maria Maggiore, go two blocks and then turn right on via Principe Amedeo, where the hotel is located.

The hotel is in a good location and easy to find if you want to stay near termini stationThe "free" internet costs money, even though the website says bathtub and shower, it's only a shower and the water temp. has no adjustment. hotel was old, outdated, and the breakfast that was included was all packaged rolls and one two kinds of cereal. we were not impressed at all by the hotel and will not be staying there again. The service was brilliant - a lot of the staff had very good english, which was helpful given our shaky italian! room was exactly as in the picture, with air conditioning, and own bathroom. good value and good location.We were kept awake until 3am one night because some very selfish young american woman was talking extremely loudly on her mobile phone. this is obviously not the hotel's fault, but there were lots of young tourists in groups, which might be something people bear in mind before booking. the breakfast is a buffet - mostly pre-packaged, and not great quality, but acceptable.Findeisen
