The hotel is in a fantastic location. the rooms were spotless and cleaned every day. the staff were very helpful and friendly. the breakfast was adequate although the "hot" food wasn't always. the eggs though were lovely and although i say adequate it certainly kept us going until 1 or 2 o'clock. plenty of restaurants around the vicinity, although we did follow the guide book and eat more in the centre as opposed to around the st peter's square area. apart from the street hawkers, felt safe at all times of day and night. the sights certainly make up for all the walking that you do, it is a spectacular city, dripping in art, history and culture. would certainly recommend the city and hotel to others wishing to travel to rome.
I would have appreciated tea / coffee making facilities in the room, and although the shower was good, it would have been nice to soak (especially our feet) after a hard day around the city. the cobbles are so unforgiving, you really must wear strong comfortable shoes. maybe a foot spa service could be added to the facilities. the only other issue we had was with the number of street hawkers, especially around the famous tourist sites, although the police presence was strong at these areas, the hawkers still got a bit in your face.
