Located within the Moscow Kremlin, the State Armory defies its name and is far from the stodgy militaristic affair one might expect; instead it is one of the most impressive and beautiful museums anywhere in the country. Tourists coming to visit Moscow and looking for something to do with a cultural bent can visit the State Armory and take a look at their massive collection of artifacts and treasures, going as far back as the 14th century in many cases.
The museum houses many different types of treasures, ranging from crown jewels of the tsars to ancient uniforms, properly preserved, and even historic arms and armor with such splendid artistry that anyone will be amazed. In the lower floors, one can even find Imperial thrones on display, and in particular the thrones of Ivan the Terrible and Alexei Romanov are considered to be worth seeing. They’re both adorned with intricate carvings of battles and ancient Russian legends, as well as precious jewels. Visitors to the Kremlin cannot afford to miss the amazing spectacles of the State Armory.
