Throughout Russia there are many different monuments to visit; one of the most important Russian monuments is the Monument to Emperor Alexander III. This celebrated monument was opened to the public in the year 1903. The monument was erected to celebrate the much anticipated completion of the building for the Trans Siberian Railway, which was the finishing act for connecting the two oceans.
This monument to the emperor symbolizes the uniting of Siberia with Russia; the monument shows the emperor dressed in a Siberian Cossack rather than his usual clothing. This Monument to Emperor Alexander III is a must see when making your way through the country, seeing the sights of Russia. When one is visiting the monument, it is a short trip to the close by Alexander Park to get a nice drink at any of the bars in the pavilion. This beautiful pavilion is also home to many striking fountains.
