Finlayndsky Rail Terminal, also known as Finland Rail Station, is located in St. Petersburg, Russia. This huge rail terminal handles all transportation to Northern destinations including Vyborg, and Helinski. Being so old this terminal has an interesting and rich history. This beautiful building was designed by a Swedish architect, and opened its doors in 1870. This old terminal used to contain a special pavilion reserved only for Russian royalty, but the use of it was discontinued.

The station is remembered most of all for receiving the arrival of Vladimir Lenin by train, to start the October Revolution, on April 3 1917. There is a permanent exhibit of engine #293 on display at the station. This engine was donated to the Soviet Union by Finland; this engine was traveled in by Lenin from Finland while he was disguised as a railway worker. There is also a statue if Lenin out in front of the station.
