Ladoga Rail Terminal is the only one to have railway tracks that continue to pass all the way through the station without needing to stop to reverse directions, out of the five major stations in St. Petersburg. The architect Nikita Yavein, designed the terminal and the project was completed in only two years after construction began in 2001. The cost to build the terminal was nine billion rubles, which is 300 million U.S dollars.
