Saint Barthélemy is a French territory that is part of the sunny Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Ocean. Most of the people that live on the island speak French, which only serves to make the area seem even more exotic. There are well over a dozen wonderful beaches to choose from when you're planning your holiday. As with most of the beaches on the island it is free and open to the public. It also has a decidedly family atmosphere.
This area has a wide range of restaurants and shops that cater to tourism. One spot that is notoriously beautiful and private is Colombier Beach. It requires a 30 minute trek down a picturesque path or it can also be reached by a boat ride from Gustavia, which is also the capital city. Many travelers find the best time to visit the island is from December to April, because that's when the island weather is at its best. You are sure to have a great time if you enjoy all that Saint Barthélemy has to offer.
