Two good reasons to visit the Leeward Islands are Saint Kitts and Nevis. This is a single small nation consisting of the two islands, St. Kitts and Nevis. Similar in topography, they provide visitors with a variety of activities and sights. On the south coast of the island, this city boasts the 1710 Anglican Church of St. George. Its crenelated towers rise high along the coastline. You can also visit the well-restored Brimstone Hill fortress. The citadel still stands, the guns now back in place.
In the capital of Charlestown, admire the weathered homes with their whimsical galleries and intricate gingerbread fretwork. The stone clock tower (1825) still works. The Nelson Museum boasts an impressive collection of Nelson memorabilia. Take time out and wander the terraced gardens of Nevis. They grow within the shadows of Mount Nevis. Sit in the shade of arbors and run your fingers in the cool water of natural lagoons. Here, you can see waterfalls and sculpted mermaids. Watch an egret pose for the kill or fill your senses in the Rose Garden. Hop back to St. Kitts or remain on Nevis.
