Cons: I stayed in two rooms; the first was facing the street - incredibly noisy. surprisingly, the windows are all single pane glass and poorly mounted within the frames permitting all outside sounds to pass; sleep was poor because of this. i made a complaint - the response was the room was of standard quality...but i was given a room facing an alley...no extraneous noise whatsoever. however, the comment from the front desk was that the new room was an upgrade. my comment: at usd 150 per night, i expect a room to be quiet, regardless. the swissotel is very nice in appearance but is not worth the cost; there are other hotels of better quality at comparable or lower prices.
A restaurant, a bar/lounge and a coffee shop/café are all convenient additions to Swissotel Merchant Court. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and a pool bar. A sauna, a beauty salon and a steam room can prove a welcome addition to any sojourn. A doctor on call is part of the services here, and so are a dry cleaning/laundry service and a bell boy service.
