In 1892, the public entered the grand doors of the Slovenian Opera and Ballet Company Theater. The design is neo-Renaissance with an ornate façade topped by two sculptures. The theater is by several architects, Jan V. Hrasky and Anton Hruby, from Czechoslovakia. The sculptural allegories of Drama and Comedy are by Alojzij Gangl. They reside in two separate niches on the facade. Two more statues, those of Poetry and Glory, adorn the tympanum. Above these two allegorical works, stands another – Genius, holding a torch.
