The De Zeekoe Guest Farm is no ordinary Oudtshoorn bed and breakfast. It is surrounded by over 2000 hectares of working farm land which are the site of the Meerkat Magic Conservation Project run by Grant McIllrath, a nature conservationist and research biologist who has featured in BBC and Discovery Channel documentaries and who will also be your guide. You can see ostriches, springbok and 162 species of birds as well, including the very rare Fish Eagle. 4x4 off-roading, mountain biking, fishing and canoing are just some of the outdoor pursuits that you can get up to at the De Zeekoe Guest Farm. There is a salt-water outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant serving lots of local specialties, ostrich, venison and vegetarian dishes prepared using organic vegetables and herbs grown on the farm.
