Carboneros is a coastal Spanish town of about 7,500 people located in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Once a simple fishing village, Carbonera has grown into a vibrant small-town, famous throughout Spain and abroad for its beautiful landscape and excellent beaches. Some of the best virgin beaches in the country can be found here, near the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park. One of these pristine stretches of sand was actually used to film part of the 1963 classic, "Lawrence of Arabia."

Local points of interest include the Castillo de San Andres, a medieval castle, as well as the Casa Fuentes, which served as the old Town Hall. It is also worthwhile to head down to the Alias River and check out the Molino de Agua del Argamason, one of the two old watermills still remaining in town. Use the Internet to find the best hotels in Carboneras. Sites such as EasyToBook.com are especially useful to those looking for cheap or discount Carboneras hotels.
