El Ejido is, as of 2005, a town of 68,828 people. It is located 30 miles from the sea, in the region of Andalusia in the south of Spain. It stands at the center of a vast plain called the "Campo de Dalias." This location, full of salt flats and dunes, once consigned El Ejido to touristic and agricultural barrenness.
