Campanet is a village of 2,507 permanent residents located in Majorca, the largest of the Spanish Balearic Islands standing off the coast of Catalonia in the Mediterranean Sea. Campanet is 40 kilometers to the northwest of Palma, the capital of the Balearic Islands. The village is only accessible by car or taxi. Somehow, it has managed to avoid most of the touristic build-up that has taken over much of the island.
