Capdepera used to be a fairly quiet fishing port until tourism boosted in the 1960’s. Its name once translated means ‘The Bay of Rays’ and that truly does reflect the beautiful coastlines which surround the town. Close by you will find the Cala Mesquida beach which hosts one of the best beaches within Spain with long sweeping sand dunes and scenic pine trees setting the scene. The popular small Cala Ratjada beach is also nearby where tourists are never far away. Definitely not a place you could stay for only a weekend, Capdepera has plenty to offer which will take at least a week to explore and enjoy.
