Deià is a village in the north of Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Catalonia, Spain. Deià is famous, disproportionately to its small size, for its place in world of literature. English author and occult scholar Robert Graves was the first foreign literary luminary to settle in Deià. Many of his works were set in the little village. During the 1920's, Deià hosted the erotic writer and diarist Anais Nin. Nowadays, Claribel Alegria, a writer of prose and poetry from Nicaragua, also lives in Deià.
Apart from its literary history, attractions in Deià include the Deià Archaeological Museum, the Parroquial Museum associated with the local church, and the Yanikun Museum, which is dedicated to the artworks of the insanely cheerful Norman Yakunin. The Internet is a great resource when it comes to finding hotels in Deià. Sites like EasyToBook.com are a particular convenience for the budget-conscious, as they let users find the best Deià cheap hotels and even discount hotels in Deià.
