"Modern hotel with spacious room"

The hotel had friendly and helpful staff. When we accidently dropped our credit card at reception they phoned the cab company we were travelling in to the station and told us to come back. The room was spacious, very comfortable with a King bed and lots of wardrobe space. The staff also recommended great places to eat that the locals go to.

"Good value but noisy"

We stayed at the Actual Hotel for 3 nights in September 2012. The hotel was conveniently located off the upscale shopping area. The hotel was newly renovated and was clean. The front desk was very helpful. It offered free wifi and free daily newspaper. As expected the room was relatively small. The bed was a bit too soft but confortable enough. The only problem with the hotel was there was no sound proofing. We could hear muffled sound of people talking in the next room. This was especially a problem at night when we tried to sleep. Overall the hotel was satisfactory. We will likely consider staying there again.

"Lovely place to stay, great location, really nice people"

I loved staying at Hotel Actual. The staff was wonderful and the hotel is located close to two of Gaudi's wonderful creations and at a Metro stop in a lovely, safe area within easy walking distance to La Rambla. The rooms are simple, modern and elegant with everything one needs. It's a small hotel and feels very personal. I would definitely plan to stay there again on my next trip to Barcelona.

"Good value city centre hotel in Barca"

Stayed here as OMM (across the road) was double the price, althought I was aware of the 3 star rating. Apart from not having fancy soap/shampoo, the room was very clean, modern and had a large bed. The only downside is that the hotel is right by the main road junction so if you are a light sleeper you may get woken up very early. Facilities are minimal at best but I don't think you can do better at that price. I only needed a bed to sleep so I was more than happy with this hotel, highly recommended for business travellers.

Cons: One of the male resepsionist was a litle bit rude and our room was a litle noisy from traffic outside only for those that are not used to.

Cons: First walking into the room they smelt like someone had been smoking in it. we enquired at reception for a non-smoking room and they assured us that all rooms were nonsmoking. however everytime we entered the room we could smell cigarette smoke lingering around

Pros: The hotel was great, and like some other travelers i was surprised it was only give 3 stars. the rooms were really nice and spacious. they are a bit "smaller" then north american standards but still very spacious in my opinion. you get a big closet, bed, hallway and a very nice size bathroom. everything is super modern and clean and that is how it remained for our entire stay. towels were changed every day and the rooms were also cleaned every day.
overall - no need to hesitate for a simple stay and seeing the city it was amazing!! the area is great as well... and walking anywhere comes super easy as there is so much to see along the way!
Cons: The staff was very nice and helpful when spoken to, however they could work on their service a bit more so they could help their guests feel welcome. saying hi to people and simply acknowledging them goes a long way.
we had also emailed prior to and asked for a nice view and did not receive that therefore are room was very very dark as there was no day light or barely any. to be fair we never complained so who knows perhaps it would have been fixed...
