very clean with good sized rooms and friendly, helpful staff. very close (4 metro stops ) to the beach, the big convention ctr.(the forum) and a huge shopping ctr. would prberbly take 15 minutes to walk there. also easy to get to old town and city centre either by taxi or metro. very lovely street if you walk along the side of the hotel -pedestrianised and lined with resturants and quiet bars.coffees are only about £1.50. 
The only downside to the hotel rooms was the lack or tea/coffee making facilities. but having spoken to a lot of other tourists this is the norm in barcelona. easy enough to buy a kettle if you can't make it out of bed in the morning without a cuppa.
