AinB Gothic-Jaume I Barcelona  

I had gone to some trouble via google earth to find this apartment as we had stayed there before 1-3 Calle Dagueria . When we arrived at the office we were told that we were not staying there but at another apartment which we would love within the group. This apartment at Ample I have to say was not up to the standard that my husband and I have been used to in the past. The toaster didn't work . The cooker didn't work. the extractor fan which we were told to use as the smoke alarm came on when we tried to make toast . The extractor fan came on of its own accord at 9.15 am two mornings ommitting a rather foul smell. The kitchen sink had a leak. We had to ask about the television and was informed it needed a battery. The left bed mattress was very badly soiled with no matress protector. The tap on the bathroom sink was hanging off. We did report this to the office the following morning 12 July 2012. All in all not a very nice place at all . Will not be booking again with this group.

Cons: The kithen was too small to make a dinner, but ok to make a cup of tea and a piece of bread.

Pros: The apartments were fairly perfect, beautiful location and balcony, lovely inside clean and modern and had everything we needed.

Cons: We had ordered a de lux room. when we arreved barcelona it was not possible to get it because it was already booked. we had to stay at another room for 2 days before we got the room we had ordered.

Pros: Spacious, well situated and clean
Cons: Initial contact with reception of this very small hotel, was difficult with difficulty understanding person and unfriendly reception. became more friendly & helpful during the 5 days stay.

Pros: Très bon accueil. personnel à l'accueil parle anglais. situation exceptionnelle. très propre. chambre de bain très fonctionnelle : grande douche.
Cons: Cuisine minuscule. appartement sans salon, donc manque de confort pour se reposer le soir et pour regarder la télévision. pas de laveuse à linge, donc pas pratique lors d'un long séjour. très bruyant la nuit, difficile de dormir.

Pros: Positive staff and we got our money back for the last day when leaving before time.
Cons: We have never experienced so much noice on any of our vacations earlier (and we have had quite a few). there was a constant noice from the street day and night from cars, trucks, churchbells, other tourists etc. the appartement had very thin windows so we almost did not sleep the first 4 nights and decided to leave the hotel before time and move into another in order to get just a little pease and quiet the last day. sorry, but the hotel is absolutely not recommendable unless you are almost deaf.

Pros: We loved the apartment, the location is ideal for a short stay in bareclona, you could not get more central. gigi who looked after us was very polite and helpful. we were lucky enough to be upgraded to the penthouse for no extra charge.

Pros: The attic apartment was fantastic - great location, clean, modern and well-equipped. we even had a small outside terrace to enjoy the spring sunshine! the staff were friendly and helpful. we would definitely go back.

Pros: Friendly and service-minded staff, nice apartment, good bed, fancy styling, extra advantage: shower and sun-bed on balcony. super-central, many good breakfast bars in the neighborhood
Cons: Floor could have been cleaner
missed two comfortable chairs in the room

Pros: The woman who runs the apartment is extremly helpful and friendly
