Castell de Montjuic Barcelona

For the tourist who wants a grand panoramic view from atop an ancient hill fortress, Castell de Montjuic in Barcelona, Spain offers the best. For those of you a little wary of heights, walk around the interior of the fortress to view the huge guns once used to ensure the safety of the port against invaders. There is a guided walking tour provided every day that the monument is open (daily except Mondays) and a military museum open to the public for a nominal fee. Here you will get a chance to view models of other castles, battlegrounds, and view miniature soldiers made from tin. The collection of medieval weapons is excellent. Military hobbyists will truly enjoy this part of your Barcelona vacation. The military museum is a must see, but leave your cameras for the outside view, photography is not allowed inside.
