Barcelona City North Hostal

It is a nice hostel but there's never any staff present at the venue (only while cleaning). The hostel is relatively close to the metro station which is a big plus. The price is certainly atractive in comparison with other similar places.I recommend it.

Great hotel to go for acity trip in Barcelona. Towels was changed every day if you want. Very good advices from the owner on the restaurants, visits, etc...

Pros: Carlos is very sweet and extremely helpful! the hostel was very cozy, clean and quiet. it has a fridge which was very convenient, a microwave and dishes. the hostel wasn't too far from the center and was in a good neighborhood.
Cons: Everything was excellent

Pros: Was very nice, clean and tidy staff was really helpful.
Cons: I wouldn't say negative but if the hotel could have served breakfast as well that would have been nice for extra charge.

Pros: For the money it was good value and we found that although it was a good 30 min walk to the main tourist areas it was near a metro station which we used to get all over the city in a matter of minutes (about 8 euros for a 10 journey pass). when we checked out they were good enough to keep our suitcases for us as the flights were in the evening. if you want cheap but nice food stay close to the hostal, there is a great crepe bar next door but one and a lovely paella place a short walk away. we would stay again :)
Cons: At the weekend there are alot of new guests and the check in area was right outside our room. the tiled floors and high heels don't go too well when you are trying to sleep. the hot water ran out pretty quickly aswell.

Pros: The room was clean and peaceful.
Cons: We felt isolated with very low availability of staff, and it was mcuh further from the city centre than we thought.

Pros: This hostel is in a great position with ease of access to most sites of interest with a underground train 5 mins away and a walk into the city taking around 20 mins. the room was simple but was exceptionally clean.
Cons: Being a light sleeper it was a bit too noisy for my taste. i could hear (albeit just) guests in the next room talking and slammed doors every now and again. use of the air conditioner proved to be essential as the noise of motorbikes and late night bin men were very loud if the windows were left open.

Pros: Location near metro station
Cons: Limited avaiability of warm water

Pros: Our bathroom light went out & it was promptly fixed the next day. maricella was very helpful & kind.

Pros: It's not expensive with quite good location.
Cons: No signs saying where the hostel is.

Pros: The rooms were always clean and tidy, the bathroom was very nice as well. it was also very quiet, which was good after a long day.
Cons: The staff was absolutely awful - they were never around and weren't very helpful when they were. also, they were very unprofessional, young, and were unwelcoming. the location of the hostel was described as "strategic" - but i see nothing strategic about being far away from the main tourist attractions and hard to find. there isn't even a sign outside the hostel! it felt very sketchy. i really would never recommend this hostel to anyone.

Pros: Helpful staff, large rooms, and very clean. a little out of the way, but not bad with barcelona's metro system.

Pros: Really clean and kind staff.
Cons: Only thing, a bit far from city centre. it becomes inconvenient at night as you have to pourposefully cut your day shorter in order to catch the train.

Pros: We arrived by taxi at about 9.30pm. we were greeted and shown our room. very clean, ikea furniture, very suitable for a couple of nights. the room had air cond which was lovely for the price we paid and not noisy. kettle and hairdryer also in room. also a suprise was extras, in the shared area a microwave a fridge to store own milk - bring ur own coffee, sugar and teabags since those provided free for all so hit and miss. also available a vending machine with hot and cold drinks. free internet use. iron! we were given two maps of the city and the owner gave us a quick intro to the city, circled the main places to visit showed us how to travel around - never had this before fab. the nearest underground is lesseps 10 min walk with a 10yr old. check out is 11am but if you wish to leave ur bags ask the owner when you arrive. there is a lovely cafe opposite but no english. a small grocery store a few doors down selling basics and wine. travel tip - the taxi cost about 25 euro. if we had done our research we would have used puplic transport. train to sants estacio terminal then to line 3 on underground to lesseps. we used this on journey home, one suitcase 3 rucksacks 2 adults and a 10 yr old no problems and since we had our day ticket for the underground no extra cost! all in same zone not like london!.

Pros: Very nice hotel, clean, bright and had free access to internet, large fridge, microwave and dishes etc. also kettle and in room. very pleasant stay.

Pros: Free computer and internet..
Cons: Very compacted for three persons..very noisy.. not the best location
