Catalonia Albinoni in Barcelona - Pictures
Description
The Catalonia Albinoni is referred to as a beautiful, neoclassical beauty. This exquisite hotel, located in the heart of Barcelona, is a great option for you and any guests that may be traveling with you such as family, friends or business partners.

Originally built as a palace in 1876, the building was carefully renovated into a hotel in 1998 and still conserves many of its original features and character of its neoclassical style: the facade has romantic and baroque details; there is a generous entrance that was used for the transit of old carriages, that leads up to a magnificent interior courtyard, which today is the hotel's reception and bar from which you can admire the marble stairs that take you up to the 83 rooms set over 5 floors. ... Location was perfect and very pleasant for sightseeing and shopping. i would recommend this hotel for all visitors to barcelona. we were surprised that there was no attempt to encourage 'room only ' guests to use the hotel 's restaurant facilities.
We would have liked a drink in the seating area outside as the weather was 22degrees but it was not available although the bar was beside the outdoor area.

The premier rooms are definately worth paying the extra money for. they are modern and tastefully decorated. the main reception foyer staircase is beautiful and it is centrally located for all the shops and sight seeing. the main street, the rambla is just around the corner. there is a beautiful restaurant down the road from the hotel up on a terrace in the dari museum, definately worth trying.

Excellent location for my daughter and i - close to all transport and sightseeing as well as feeling safe coming back to the hotel late at night. room very comfortable, quiet, well ventilated and clean. lovelt terrace and pool with sunbeds - an added bonus in the middle of a city.
Only a minor point that didn't spoil the trip at all: view of a wall from the window but as we were out all day until late it didn't matter.

The room was lovely and clean- the location was also brilliant
The electricity would randomly cut out few times a day, hence not being able to use the pool or the lift. on my departure, the lifts were not working so i carried my luggage down 4 stories by myself- concierge no where to be found. the staff, although they could speak english, were very stressed and short with people.

The gentleman at the front desk spoke english quite well and was very helpful! the bed and pillows were very comfortable and we had a balcony overlooking the street! the street was quite noisy and we were on the first floor, but we were hardly able to hear the noise once the window was closed. great hotel!!!!
The bathroom had beautiful marble tiles throughout but, they did not appear to be sealed... and there was black "stuff" growing in the cracks and spreading out onto the tiles around the bathtub/shower.

This hotel has an excellent location, about 2 minutes from the ramblas! we had a room on the 4th floor, very quiet with our own balcony.
The food and service in the restaurant were terrible. both courses were overdone and slow - considering we were the only people eating it was a very poor performance. you can get much better quality and value for money by walking around - very good tapas restaurant by the cathedral

Excellent location, could not be better. everything on doorstep of hotel. city tour bus, shopping, las ramblas, catalonia sq, metro, airport bus. we had an extreemly enjoyable stay in this hotel with having rooms located to the back of the hotel with a balcony overlooking the courtyard resturant and swimming pool. a quiet place to relax in the afternoon sunshine. i would reccomend this hotel and would return myself if we visited the city again.
The only issue i would point out is that one of the rooms which we had would easily have had enough space for 4 beds which would mean the family could have been together in one room. the expense of having two rooms mean that we had to restrict our stay to 3 nights because of the cost. i would recommend that the hotel consider making rooms available to accomodate families of 4 as there is a shortage of family rooms in the city centre and this may attract them more business. i only have one very minor point to make regarding the rooms in that although they were cleaned daily including the bathroom and towels replaced a little bit more attention to the clenlieness of the floors should be considered. we were impressed by the hotel, the location and the information given on the website.
